exercise, wind resisted

This is why Fannersize would work

I had a dream a long time ago about a room you could stand in three times a week that would make you lose weight and get in shape.  I awoke when I finally went to see what the new “weight loss” craze was all about.  I went into a big building and people were just standing around.  A man came in and said “you can move around if you want.  I’ll be back in 30 minutes.  When he left, a wall rolled up and a HUGE fan came on.  I woke up laughing because wind resistance would really work!  People would rather do something that is re-active instead of Proactive.  This would truly be a great form of exercise.  There could be elderly low wind exercise to help with balance and core stabilization.  Sports teams could work drills in the wind.  Singles could “bump into each other” in “Singles” wind class.  This youtube link reminds me again why this would work.

movement data capturing device.

I  love to watch Kickstarter to see if items are invented that could impact my work.  I found this one and think it may have some good applications for research or objective treatment data collection.    I also found a very simple stand for the I-pad that could potentially work in a shelf for resting a hand on while signing the I-pad screen.  I sent an email to the makers of the stand to see if they could modify the design for that purpose.

stylus for I-Pad

I have been frustrated with the difficulty of having patients sign the screen with our visit notes while doing home care.  The patient has difficulty getting the stylus to make a mark due to the angle of the stylus in use.  They often grasp the I-pad and place their finger on the Home Button.  They need to place the hand down to stabilize while writing and doing so causes the screen to move.  Sometimes they press too hard and a bubble shows up on the screen.  I have been on the hunt for a better stylus, one with a smaller tip.  I found this stylus on Kickstarter.  It is pricey and I will have to wait until January for it to come in but it is fun to support someone who is inventing an improved product.  Now I need to come up with an I-Pad holder that has a piece that can flip over when used for signing that will cover a portion of the screen – hovering just above the screen, so the patient can rest their hand on the cover while they sign. ..Something to invent!
